![]() He's also got that colorful look contrasting most of the heroes so I put him here. It has a lot of weird balancing I wasn't a fan of. Indecisive whether I should add this or not. Won't work with the jester skin in the pack, so remove that if you wanna use this. He came through time and space to play his bongo for you. This is basically a anime class but imo went well with the dimensional theme. Didn't wanna include until one artist releases better textures for it. Here Be Monsters: The New Shadow monsters standalone.Makes the hamlet glow during the end times. I usually put this on when heading to kill CoM's final boss. I wanted to include one ostvengr guy per collection, but tbh he is amazing for the endless. Gamers will unavoidably lose characters to madness. This concept - the madness acquired through the incomprehensible - is nothing new to cosmic horror, and Darkest Dungeon uses it as an integral part of the gameplay loop. If they aren't outright killed by the evil that lurks around the hamlet and their ancestor's estate, they are driven mad beyond repair. The idea that Darkest Dungeon drives home is that in this story, even if the player wins, the heroes lose. The madness mechanic builds on the most essential part of cosmic horror: hopelessness. However, the fact that even these, the bravest of heroes, can lose their minds in the face of cosmic horror truly expresses the hopelessness of the world around the player. The very idea of mere humans standing up to these monsters, in itself, builds these characters up as heroic. The game has the player's party facing off against eldritch horrors beyond human conception. Darkest Dungeon uses its gameplay mechanics to amp up the horror - specifically, the madness mechanic that can be applied to player characters.
